Clear Span First Responder Staging Facility with Mezzanine

The Butler County CARES Emergency Center is a 16,000 sf Kirby pre-engineered metal building that serves as a first responder staging facility for the local community. The building is gable-symmetrical in design, and comprised of two buildings seamlessly joined together, providing a two hour fire separation.

Housed within the center is a 1,300 square foot hardened storm shelter that serves as office space when not in use. A partial mezzanine presented a solution for first responder equipment storage.

Seeking a central and dedicated space for disaster response, Butler County chose a Kirby pre-engineered metal building for their new community facility due to the ease of design, cost savings and Kirby’s above and beyond partnership.
